Hospital gets specialised therapy equipment.

Friday 28 July, 2017.

Calvary Mater Newcastle Auxiliary ‘Cancer Carers’ is a recipient of a generous staff donation through our CommunityAssist Program

The Calvary Mater Newcastle provides a facility where cancer patients begin their journey of treatment, supporting this facility is the Auxiliary ‘Cancer Carers’ – a group of dedicated volunteers who fundraise throughout the year on behalf of the Mater, raising money to purchase specialised equipment that aids the comfort and care of patients.

Our staff donation has been used to purchase two VAC Therapy Machines, which promote faster and more effective wound healing to help improve the quality of life for cancer patients.

The Calvary Mater Hospital was the first recipient of our Staff Donation scheme back in 1997, and this August the Auxiliary celebrates 90 years of service to the hospital and its patients.
