Join us at our iconic Newcastle Permanent Cinema Under the Stars event this summer

It’s free, it’s fun and it’s family friendly!

With beautiful locations, live music, activities for the kids, free popcorn and a blockbuster movie under the stars, this event has all the ingredients for the perfect summer night out.

This year we’ll be screening family favourites for all ages to enjoy. From new release Toy Story 4 to real-life remakes of Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, right through to the timeless classic Home Alone, we’ve got you covered!

So gather your tribe, pack your picnic and get ready for a night full of fun and entertainment.

What are the seating arrangements?

Central Coast: No glass, alcohol or chairs are permitted in the stadium to maintain the playing surface. Any prohibited items will be held at the gate to be collected at the end of the event. Prams are permitted and wheelchair access is provided.

All other events:You can bring low beach chairs, cushions, blankets and rugs. You may bring chairs however you will be asked to sit in the designated area so you do not obstruct the view of other audience members. Download a list of Gosford's Permitted and Not-Permitted items.

Can I buy food and drinks at the Cinema?
Yes, a delectable range of food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase.

Can I bring a picnic into the Cinema?
Yes, please feel free to prepare your own picnic to share with your friends and family, but please do not bring glass.

Can I bring alcohol into the Cinema?
We do not encourage alcohol consumption at the events and some venues are strictly alcohol- free locations. Please check with your local council to find out details about the park in your location. If you are planning to drink, plan NOT to drive. Plan ahead and arrange overnight accommodation or alternative transport. The event organisers reserve the right to ask anyone disrupting other patrons to leave.

Can I bring my furbaby?
Although we love all animals large and small, unfortunately Cinema Under the Stars isn’t the place for them. For the comfort and enjoyment of other patrons do not bring your pets with you.

What time does the movie start? 
The movie will start at sundown. Depending on location and time of year, it’s generally between 7.45pm- 8.30pm.  

What happens if it rains?
All patrons are advised to make provisions for wet weather. The use of umbrellas during screenings is not permitted as it obstructs the view of other audience members. To keep updated on weather, please visit our Facebook page and "like" us.

How will I know if the screening is cancelled?
In the event that a screening is cancelled, information will be posted on our website and at our Facebook page. 

Please note: Due to changing weather conditions cancellations may need to occur at short notice.

Please note: Newcastle Permanent will be filming and photographing each Cinema Under the Stars event for promotion and marketing purposes. If you would like to attend one of our events and wish not to be captured in film or photography please notify one of our friendly team members at the event. 

Will the movie have captions?
We will happily include closed captions at any Cinema Under the Stars event if we receive a request prior to the event. It’s important to us that everyone can come along and enjoy the evening, so if you require captions, please contact us. To ensure we can meet your request, please contact us at least 48 hrs prior to the event date.

Can I drive to the event?
Some locations have limited parking within the venue or in surrounding streets, however we do encourage patrons to use public transport or car pool to reduce traffic congestion, and to ensure all patrons arrive on time.

A FREE shuttle bus will be available for our Newcastle event. The bus is available from 4pm until 11.59pm and will do continuous loops every 10-15 minutes. Pick up points are Bar Beach Car Park and Bolton Street Car Park. Please refer to our Facebook page for regular updates and information.

Please note: The Event Promoter does NOT take responsibility for parking fines or break-ins or damage to vehicles - please note all relevant signage when parking, and take all valuables with you.

Newcastle Permanent Building Society Limited (“our”, “us”, “we”) may film and photograph our community events for promotional and marketing purposes. Both audio and video footage will be captured. As an audience member attending a Newcastle Permanent event you and your children may appear in the images and footage captured.

Whilst audience members may be identifiable in the images or footage captured, primarily we seek to film and photograph the audience as a body, rather than any particular individual audience members. Where you or your children are identifiable, those images or footage will constitute personal information and the Privacy Act 1988 will apply to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of those images or footage. We may use and disclose images or footage of you and your children in promotional or marketing materials we publish, including on our website, social media channels and via email. Those images and footage of you and your children may be disclosed to third parties, including those located overseas, in the process of facilitating the aforementioned uses.

If you do not want to appear in images or footage captured at our events please notify a member of our team upon your arrival. Otherwise, your consent to the use and disclosure of images or footage of you and your children in accordance with this notice is given by your attendance at the event.

Our Privacy Policy explains further how we treat your personal information, including how we protect personal information that we hold, how you may access or correct personal information we hold about you and how our complaints process works. Our Privacy Policy will apply to our collection of images or footage of you and your children, but subject to this notice, which will prevail to the extent of any inconsistency. We require quality and reliable food vendors at these events. If you are interested in joining us please complete the form below.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the event we do not accept retail vendors such as glow sticks, market stalls etc. to minimise the outlay by families attending our free events.

As space is limited for vendors per site, the event organiser reserves the right to select the necessary vendors for each location.
