Our staff have donated over $660,000 to local charities.

Our Staff Donation scheme is a great example of the generosity and community spirit that is alive and well within Newcastle Permanent. Each year we raise more than $55,000 in staff donations, which is distributed to four worthy charities or community groups.

Every Newcastle Permanent employee has the opportunity to contribute a donation from their fortnightly salary to the Staff Donation scheme.

Since the Staff Donation scheme was established in 1997, we have donated over $660,000 to more than 40 charities and community groups.

Our most recent recipients include:

  • Royal Rehab – Spinal Unit: provides highly specialised rehabilitation services to people from all over NSW who experience spinal cord injury as the result of accident or trauma.
  • Simply Loving Taylor Inc: provides both emotional and financial support to families that have children living with Crainosynostosis – (a condition in which fibrous sutures in an infant skull prematurely fuses by turning into bone, causing restricted and distorted skull and brain growth) and similar conditions.  
  • Build for a Cure: This initiative relies on community support to help build a house in 21 days, which is auctioned off to raise much needed funds for vital research to help cure childhood cancers.
  • Flying Free project: a community art project designed to support victims of domestic violence. This unique fundraising campaign involved over 500 girls and women aged 4-92 years banding together to create 1,400 beautifully hand decorated fabric birds.
