The sun was out and shining at the Newcastle Permanent Junior Ranger Fun Day last week. Located at picturesque Blackbutt Reserve, the event was the second of its kind so far this year.
Blackbutt Reserve staff and volunteers hosted an incredible day, which centred on the theme ‘Nature Venture’. Over 500 eager children took part in dip netting for critters, potting plants, arts and crafts and reptile encounters.
The next Newcastle Permanent Junior ranger Fun Day will be held in the Term 3 school holidays on Tuesday 5 July at Richley Reserve, part of Blackbutt Reserve.
The Newcastle Permanent Junior Ranger Program provides free interactive and educational activities throughout school holidays.
