The long-running Grafton event is proudly supported by Newcastle Permanent.

By Kellie O’Sullivan, Sponsorship Coordinator

In its 85th year it was fitting that vintage cars lead the 2018 Jacaranda Festival Float Parade on Saturday 3rd November.

Grafton comes alive with families, atmosphere, music, and celebration for the annual Jacaranda Festival and 2018 was no exception.

Newcastle Permanent started supporting the Jacaranda Festival in 2011, and this year we were thrilled to be major sponsor of the Float Parade, showering the town in colour, fun and frivolity.

As spectators watched on from their road-side picnics, a variety of floats made their way down Prince Street – from trucks, sporting groups and emergency crews to Surf Life Saving, dancers and kindergarten kids.

One woman even celebrated her 30th birthday on her own float.

Grafton branch staff Erica Farag, Patricia Hyatt, Kym Wilkinson, Nichelle Whiley and Natalie Kelly proudly flew our flag in the parade.

The parade was attended by thousands of locals and tourists who immersed themselves in what is undoubtedly Grafton’s most iconic community event and enjoyed a week of festivities that included the Vintage Motor Club Show, River Feast Festival on the mighty Clarence River, art exhibition, queen crowning and of course, it wouldn’t be a festival without an impressive fireworks display.

We’re proud to continue our sponsorship of Jacaranda Festival and support the community that supports us.
