Why is there a temporary hold on some transactions after using my Visa Debit card?
Some merchants, such as hotels, car hire providers and service stations, may place a temporary hold on funds in your account before the final transaction amount is confirmed. This may reduce your available balance until the transaction is completed and the hold is removed.
