Newcastle and Singleton events rescheduled to November

Friday, 3 April 2020

Newcastle Permanent proudly supports the 65th Annual Newcastle and Hunter Combined Schools ANZAC Commemorative Events in Newcastle and Singleton. These services acknowledge and commemorate the incredible dedication, commitment and sacrifice our defence forces have made in the service of our nation.

To support social distancing measures, this year’s Services have been rescheduled to mark Remembrance Day, with the new dates of 10 November at Newcastle Civic Theatre, and Thursday, 12 November at Singleton Civic Centre.

While community ANZAC gatherings are not currently possible, the Australian War Memorial has confirmed that it will host a private, nationally televised ANZAC Day commemorative service on 25 April 2020, to be broadcast live by the ABC and streamed online.

ANZAC Day is a significant event recognising our nation’s cultural history and we encourage everyone to continue paying their respects on Saturday 25 April, whether by tuning into the ABC telecast, hosting an online gathering with friends, or simply observing a minute’s silence, in honour of those who’ve served our country.

We are proud to continue supporting events which educate young people about, and acknowledge the contribution of, all the servicemen and women who have served Australia and its people.

Lest we forget.
