Young athletes in Mudgee are set to benefit from a new partnership between Newcastle Permanent and Mudgee Athletics & Little Athletics, helping more local young people get active, develop their skills and build confidence through grassroots sport.
The partnership will see Newcastle Permanent sponsor Mudgee Athletics & Little Athletics throughout the 2026–27 season, supporting the club and the dedicated volunteers and families who make grassroots sport possible.
Newcastle Permanent Central West Regional Manager Greg Creagan said the partnership reflected the customer-owned bank’s longstanding commitment to supporting regional communities.
“Little Athletics plays such an important role in communities like Mudgee, giving young people the opportunity to get active, make friends and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment,” Greg said.
“Behind every local club are dedicated volunteers, parents and families who give their time to make these opportunities possible, and we’re pleased to be able to support their efforts.
“Grassroots sport brings people together, and this partnership is about helping Mudgee Athletics & Little Athletics continue providing opportunities for the next generation of young athletes.
“Newcastle Permanent has a proud history of supporting regional communities, and we’re excited to strengthen our connection with Mudgee through this new partnership.”
Mudgee Athletics & Little Athletics President Brett Murray welcomed the partnership, saying the support would make a real difference to the club and its young athletes.
“It’s fantastic to have Newcastle Permanent supporting our club and investing in grassroots athletics here in Mudgee,” Brett said.
“Little Athletics is about giving kids of all abilities the opportunity to have a go, develop their skills, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun with their friends.
“We’re a volunteer-run club, and partnerships like this help us continue providing a great experience for local families. We’re particularly excited about the Star of the Month awards, which will give us another opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements and efforts of our young athletes throughout the season.
“We really appreciate Newcastle Permanent getting behind our club and look forward to building a strong partnership over the coming season.”
The partnership will support the 2026–27 athletics season, running from October 2026 to April 2027.
