With communities across the Mid North Coast still feeling the impacts from recent flooding, Newcastle Permanent has stepped in with a $25,000 donation to four Northern NSW Football clubs to support their recovery efforts.
Mid Coast FC, Rainbow Warriors FC, Port United FC and Kempsey Saints FC will each receive funding to help rebuild their clubs after the devastating floods that hit the region in May 2025.
The clubs will use the funding injection to restore their facilities and replace supplies that were damaged or lost during the weather event, including equipment and stock required to run their canteens which are vital income streams for the not-for-profit organisations.
Northern NSW Football General Manager Member Services Ross Hicks said the funding would be invaluable in helping their clubs rebuild.
"Several of our clubs across the region have been heavily impacted by the flooding earlier this year and have struggled to get back out onto the pitch," Ross said.
"Thank you to Newcastle Permanent for this donation and their ongoing support to our clubs across the Mid North Coast throughout this tough time.”
Newcastle Permanent Port Macquarie Branch Manager Samantha Cullen said the regional customer-owned organisation is honoured to support the regional football clubs in a time of need.
"Newcastle Permanent has been the major community partner of Northern NSW Football since 2008 and we’re pleased to be able to extend that to assist a number of their clubs with their recovery efforts after the devastating floods in May this year.
"We hope that this donation can help Port United FC, Kempsey Saints FC, Rainbow Warriors FC and Mid Coast FC get back on their feet and spark some joy back into the local football community, which has been through so much,” Samantha said.
