Family Support Newcastle (FSN) is a community organisation providing services and programs to promote the wellbeing of children, families, individuals, and communities. As a member of the Hunter Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Consortium, FSN collaborates with specialist services to strengthen responses to DFV and improve support for victim-survivors.
Family Support Newcastle is committed to supporting individuals, families and communities affected by domestic and family violence.
As technology continues to evolve, the organisation is leading the Technology-Facilitated Abuse Project on behalf of the Hunter Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Consortium. The project equips frontline DFV practitioners with the knowledge, skills, and practical resources needed to identify, respond to, and support victim-survivors experiencing technology-facilitated abuse.
Our partnership is helping Family Support Newcastle transform the Hunter DFV Consortium's Technology-Facilitated Abuse (TFA) Playbook into an interactive digital resource for frontline domestic and family violence practitioners. The web-based platform will provide practical diagnostic and response tools to help workers identify, assess, and respond to TFA and related safety risks in real time.
The initiative will initially support around 300 frontline practitioners across the Hunter region. By strengthening workforce capability and improving responses to technology-facilitated abuse, the project will help enhance safety outcomes for victim-survivors in an increasingly digital world.
“I am very grateful for the TFA playbook checklist. Due to the easy format of questions it helps me clearly identify and summarise the risks for my clients and actions required. Digitising the playbook will make it much easier for me in my work as I will be able to utilise it in any location at anytime it is required"
Emma - FSN DFV practitioner.
