The weather conditions were impeccable as 1,500 people turned out to participate in the Lake Macquarie Running Festival on Sunday 28 August 2016. The sun was out to warm up the fun runners who ran the picturesque course following the Lake Macquarie foreshore at Warners Bay.
The Lake Macquarie Running Festival featured three great events;
- Billy’s Lookout 4km Kids Scamper,
- Newcastle Permanent 10.5km Fun Run, and
- the Pure Performance 21.1km Half Marathon for those serious runners.
Congratulations to the male and female winners of the Newcastle Permanent 10.5km Fun Run; Guy Walters who lead the pack with a time of 34 minutes and 18 seconds and Angela Leadbeatter who took it out for the females in 39 minutes and 39 seconds.
The event is now in it’s 32nd year. It helps raise money for the John Hunter Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a cause Newcastle Permanent has supported through other community initiatives such as Give Me 5 for Kids in the Hunter.
We’re proud to support a number of family friendly running events that help promote a healthy and active lifestyle to the local communities in which we serve.
