References to “interest only” on this page refer to loans with interest based repayments – please ask us for further details. References to "LVR" mean Loan to Valuation Ratio which is calculated by dividing the loan amount by the value of the property (as determined by us). There may be a difference between the purchase price and the value of the property.
At the current time, to be eligible for any Fixed Rate Home Loan with Interest Only repayments an LVR of less than 80% will be required.
* The comparison rate is calculated on a loan amount of $150,000 for a term of 25 years based on monthly repayments. Comparison rates for variable rate loans with interest based repayments are calculated based on an initial 5 year period for interest based repayments. Comparison rates for fixed rate loans with interest based repayments are calculated based on an initial period for interest based repayments equal in length to the fixed period. You should consider whether the loan is suitable for you. WARNING: This comparison rate is true only for the examples given and may not include all fees and charges. ** Premium Plus Package interest rates are generally determined by combined loan balances at the time you first borrow or as follows:
Tier 1 - combined loan balances below $500,000
Tier 2 - combined loan balances over $500,000
Tier 3 - combined loan balances over $750,000
Tier 4 - combined loan balances over $900,000
***Discounted interest rates are available for new borrowers applying for a Premium Plus Package Home Loan for an owner occupied home with principal and interest repayments with a minimum balance of $150,000. Existing Newcastle Permanent customers are eligible to receive the discounted interest rate if: 
•they have a Premium Plus Package Home Loan for an owner occupied home with principal and interest repayments and they increase it by a minimum of $150,000 in new borrowings; or 
•they convert an existing Newcastle Permanent loan to a Premium Plus Package Home Loan for an owner occupied home with principal and interest repayments and they increase it by a minimum of $150,000 in new borrowings.  
Converted borrowings do not constitute new borrowings. The discounted interest rate is determined by reference to the applicable Loan to Valuation Ratio (LVR). At the current time, the LVR requirements are as follows:
Discount 1 - For loans with an LVR of less than 90%, a discount of 0.56% is deducted from the Premium Plus Package Variable Rate Tier 4.
Discount 2 - For loans with an LVR of equal to or greater than 90% and less than 95%, a discount of 0.46% is deducted from the Premium Plus Package Variable Rate Tier 4.

###Discounted interest rates are available for new borrowers applying for a Premium Plus Package Variable Home Loan for an owner occupied home with interest based repayments with a minimum balance of $150,000 and a Loan to Value Ratio (LVR) of less than 80%, a discount of 0.85% will be deducted from the Premium Plus Package Tier 4 – Interest Only interest rate. At the end of the Interest Only period, the loan will revert to the Premium Plus Package Variable Rate Tier 4 interest rate for an owner occupied home with principal and interest repayments, discounted by 0.56%.
Existing Newcastle Permanent customers are eligible to receive the discounted interest rate if:
•they have a Premium Plus Package Home Loan for an owner occupied home with interest based repayments and they increase it by a minimum of $150,000 in new borrowings; or
•they convert an existing Newcastle Permanent loan to a Premium Plus Package Home Loan for an owner occupied home with interest based repayments and they increase it by a minimum of $150,000 in new borrowings,
and the Premium Plus Package Home Loan has an LVR of less than 80%.
