Having the following items ready for your application can help the process progress quickly.

Each applicant’s details are different, so you may be asked for more information when you apply for a loan then is outlined below.

  1. You’ll need to show us your two most recent payslips, or if you’re self-employed, we’ll need your full individual tax returns and accountant-prepared financial statements for the last two years.
  2. If you receive an Aged, Disability, or Veterans Affairs Pension, you’ll need to supply us with a statement of income from Centrelink no more than 6 weeks old.

Secured personal loans have lower interest rates and repayments than an unsecured loan, because an asset is used as security. In the case you are unable to repay the loan, possession of the asset may be obtained to reconcile the debt owing. Acceptable assets include a car, property or a term deposit.

For example, if you are borrowing money for a new car, you may be able to use the car as security against a default. This means the car could be sold to repay the loan, if necessary.

You'll need to show one of the following forms of photo ID as either originals or verified copies:

  1. Passport
  2. Australian driver’s licence
  3. Photo Card

If you don’t have any of the photo ID options above, we’ll need to see two of the following (as original documents or verified copies):

  1. Birth certificate;
  2. Citizenship certificate;
  3. Pension card or health care card;
  4. Rates or utility bills or ATO assessment notice or other current NSW photo licence (only one of these may be used) must be issued within the preceding 3 months).

For a secured car loan you'll also need to provide:

  1. Evidence of 12-month comprehensive car insurance;
  2. A copy of the current registration papers;
  3. A tax invoice for the car you’re buying, that includes: car registration number, vehicle ID number (VIN) or chassis number, engine number, purchase price.

Further supporting documentation may be required on request.
