Our Board of Directors have announced that our long-serving Chief Executive Officer, Terry Millett, will finish in his role on Friday, 14 December after announcing his resignation in July.
Terry has served as CEO for 10 years after three years as our Chief Customer Officer and has led our staff through a period of great change including branch expansion and digital transformation.
Our Chair, Jeff Eather, confirmed that following Terry's departure in mid-December, current Chief Operations Officer, Mark Williams will act as CEO until a permanent appointment is made.
"We're well progressed in our recruitment of a suitably impressive CEO who shares our values and drive and we expect to officially announce the new appointment before the end of the year," Jeff said.
"Mark will act in the CEO role until the new appointment can take up the role. We're confident Mark will perform the role with the skill and acuity he has shown in all his roles at Newcastle Permanent, including his current role as Chief Operations Officer." - Jeff Eather
"I would like to thank Terry again for his exceptional performance as CEO at Newcastle Permanent. He's shown himself to be an exemplary leader and skilled banking executive, working cooperatively with the Board and Executive team to relentlessly deliver against our strategic plans to offer our customers the best retail banking experience on offer," Jeff said.
You may notice a few hygiene and social distancing changes in our branches to protect customers and our people, including mandatory masks in our Central Coast branches, in keeping with government health advice. If you are feeling unwell, please bank from home using the app, internet banking or call our local call centre team.
With many customers now choosing contactless ways of banking, you will find these branches open on a Saturday morning: Waratah, Wallsend, Greenhills, Charlestown Square, Raymond Terrace, Glendale, Kotara, Mount Hutton, Swansea, Erina, and Tuggerah.
