Dog Rescue Newcastle is a group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue of abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals.

Monday 30 November, 2015.

Dog Rescue Newcastle was selected by our staff as one of four charities to receive a donation of almost $13,000 through our CommunityAssist - Staff Deduction Scheme during 2014/15.

Dog Rescue Newcastle is a group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue of abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals.

They rescue dogs and cats from death row at local pounds and put them into loving foster homes until permanent homes can be found for them.

The staff donation will be used to implement a desexing scheme that will allow those experiencing financial hardship access to desexing at a greatly reduced price. Not only will this minimise the community burden and cost of dealing with unwanted or unexpected litters, but improve the lifespan and health of animals.

Supporting the community is something our staff are very passionate about, and through our CommunityAssist Program, our staff are making a real difference in the community. Our staff have raised almost $600,000 for not-for-profit community organisations since the program was established in 1997.
