Cinema Under the Stars has wrapped for another massive successful season.
More than 35,800 people attended the 15 outdoor cinema events we held across regional NSW. We travelled extensively to bring these to the regional communities in our footprint from the Northern Rivers down the coast, out to New England and the Central West continuing through the Hunter and down to the Central Coast. We were ecstatic to visit two new locations this season; Dubbo and Taree, where we were welcomed with great support from the local communities. Unfortunately we don’t always have the cooperation of the summer weather for our outdoor cinema events; with one cancellation in Singleton.
We had three blockbuster animated movies across the season Zootopia, The Good Dinosaur and Kung Fu Panda 3 and characters from each of the movies made appearances at the events to mingle with the audience and take photos. There was plenty of free popcorn provided to snack on throughout the movie and it was great to see so many families come down and enjoy a picnic and entertainment before the movie.
We’ve had some amazing musicians perform at our events for the second half of the season including Lime Cordiale, Nick Filis, Bad Pony, Jaz Salangsang, Chris Langston and Jake Davey. Craig Stewart toured with us throughout January and February, his unique storytelling and engaging presence were a hit with the audience.
