Our popular, free and family-friendly Cinema Under the Stars events will run in regional NSW from the Central Coast to the North Coast.

Tuesday, 24 October, 2017.

Newcastle Permanent’s Cinema Under the Stars is returning to light up the night for its 11th season.  The iconic outdoor cinema program will visit 17 regional locations between October and February, providing a night of free entertainment to thousands of families.

Cinema Under the Stars events appeal to all ages with great live music and fun activities for kids, including circus workshops and small-sided football from 5.30pm. Entry is free for everyone and people are encouraged to bring along picnics and soak up the magical atmosphere. Once the sun goes down the big screen will light up and families can sit back and relax with free popcorn while they enjoy the family-friendly movie.

Newcastle Permanent CEO Terry Millett said: "We understand how much regional communities across NSW look forward to our Cinema Under the Stars events, and as a customer-owned organisation it is just one of the many ways we’re giving back to communities that support us."

"This year we’re excited to visit one of NSW’s most beautiful coastal areas – Port Stephens – and we can’t wait to get back to all the other fantastic regional communities that already know and love these events," Mr Millett said.
