Young mathematicians count down the days until they take on competition across regional NSW.

9am to 3pm, Wednesday 24 August

Thousands of year 5 and 6 students will test their math skills today as part of the Newcastle Permanent Primary School Mathematics Competition.

The 35-question paper is sat without the use of calculators, rulers or other mathematical instruments, challenging the students problem solving skills.

Hundreds of schools take part with the top performing students in each region invited to attend our annual awards presentation to celebrate their achievements with their family and other maths whizzes.

Schools are required to register by Friday 13 May 2016.
