Baths 2 Bar Community Ocean Swim
The Newcastle Permanent Baths 2 Bar Community Ocean Swim is an annual fundraising 1.5km swim from Merewether Baths to Bar Beach. Funds raised from the event support Cooks Hill Surf Club.
The 2010 community ocean swim will be held on Sunday 19 December.There will be great prizes and entertainment for the non-competitors along with a get-together after the swim in the Cook's Hill Surf Clubhouse.

Central Coast Mariners Active Schools Program
The Central Coast Mariners are the premier sporting team on the Central Coast representing the region in the national A-League Football Championship.
The Newcastle Permanent Active Schools Program focuses on promoting football as a healthy, active, team oriented sport for young boys and girls on the Central Coast. The program will commence in term 4 and will run for approximately 10 weeks per term across the full 2010/2011 school year.
This program targets over 70 primary schools and 30 high schools throughout the Central Coast. With an average of 120 students per school and 2 school visits per day approximately 38,000 students will participate in this program.

Darrel Chapman Fun Run, Lismore
We were delighted to come on board as a major sponsor of the 2010 Darrel Chapman Fun Run in Lismore, presented by Southern Cross University.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the event in May. Together you helped to raise much needed funds for Our Kids, an organisation committed to improving health services for children in the Northern Rivers region.The money raised from the event will go directly towards providing specialist medical equipment for Lismore Base Hospital’s children’s ward.

The event attracts widespread participation from locals of all ages, as well as a large contingent of competitors from outside the area. The event is held annually in August and is set along the beautiful Warners Bay foreshore.

Northern NSW Football
Newcastle Permanent is proud to support the development of talented footballers through the Northern NSW Football High Performance Program.The Program focuses on the following events and activities for young footballers throughout Northern New South Wales.
Centres of Excellence
The Centres of Excellence program is run by Northern NSW Football in the Hunter, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Lismore and Port Macquarie. The program aims to assist these young footballers reach their full potential whilst promoting a active healthy lifestyle.
Emerging Athletes Program
The Emerging Athletes Program is aimed at identifying and promoting the development of promising young male and female players.
State Youth League
The State Youth League takes place over 20 Rounds with matches played across Northern NSW in various zone centers including Tamworth, Coffs Harbour, Armidale, Port Macquarie and Taree.
State Championships
The State Championships consist of the best U12 players male and female from across Northern NSW who represent their zone in a State Championships held at Coffs Harbour.
Summer League
The Summer league is an 'off-season' activity designed to maintain fitness and competition skills for elite players.

Surf Life Saving
Newcastle Permanent is a major supporter and partner of Surf Life Saving across the Hunter, Central Coast, Lower North Coast, Mid North Coast, North Coast and Far North Coast areas.
In the Hunter and on the Central Coast Newcastle Permanent is the major sponsor of the Junior Activities Program, which includes local branch carnivals, junior carnivals, youth development camps, inter-branch teams, age manager courses and other junior activities. Whilst on the North Coast Newcastle Permanent is the major sponsor of both the juniors and seniors activities in the three surf branches from Pacific Palms in the South to Minnie Waters in the North.
This support provides the necessary resources to not only teach our young people important surf survival skills to better equip them when they hit the water, but to mould them into the next generation of lifesavers and life guards who will keep our beaches safe in the years to come.
Each of the 60 individual surf clubs which are located in the 6 branches that Newcastle Permanent sponsors directly benefits through the provision of funds which allows for training support, equipment purchases and the provision of a myriad of services that these branches might otherwise not be in a position to provide.

Tamworth Ten Fun Run
Newcastle Permanent is the major sponsor of the annual Tamworth Ten Fun Run. Events include the 10km run, the Fun 5km, 4km walk and the popular Dash for Cash. Over 750 locals take part in the event each year which includes activities for children, celebrity Dash for Cash, face painting, exhibitions and food stalls. The event is co-ordinated by the Tamworth Triathalon Club and is supported by local schools, the running community, business and corporate community and families throughout the New England region.
