Verify your identity

There may be times when we will require you to provide us with identification, for example when you are opening a new account, becoming signatory to an account, or signing up for Internet Banking. You have three options to verify your identity:

You can visit a Newcastle Permanent branch.

  • Take your identification document/s to a Newcastle Permanent branch, where a member of our team will take a copy for our records. To find a branch location near you, use our Locate us facility.

Or

You can send us a certified copy of your photo-ID.

  • Send us a certified copy of your appropriate identification documents.
  • The copy has to be certified as a true copy of the original document by a magistrate, a Justice of the Peace, a police officer, or other approved certifier.

Or

You can complete the Identity Verification Form and lodge it at any participating post office.

  • Complete sections A & B of the Identity Verification Form (PDF - 139kb) 
  • Take this form to any participating post office. To find the nearest participating outlet, please call 13 13 18 or go to auspost.com.au/pol and select Bank@Post.
  • Remember:
    a. Only sign the declaration (Section C) in the presence of an Australia Post officer; and
    b. Identification document(s) provided MUST be current and original and also meet the requirements for Primary and Secondary documents outlined on the form.
