What is VerifID?

VerifID is a convenient service available to Newcastle Permanent members using Internet banking and provides an additional layer of security for BPAY® and other third party payment transactions.

How does VerifID work?

VerifID is an effective and convenient form of enhanced authentication which uses a phone of your choice either home, work or mobile. At the time of making some third party payment transactions, you will receive an automated call which provides you with the VerifID code to complete your transaction.

Who needs VerifID?

VerifID is a free service available to all Newcastle Permanent members with Internet banking.

Which transactions will be protected by VerifID?

VerifID provides added security for Pay Any One, BPAY® and Batch payments where funds are transferred out of your own accounts. VerifID constantly monitors Internet banking activity and will automatically request authentication for higher risk transactions.



VerifID authentication

Following some transactions VerifID will automatically request authentication.

Check details

Ensure all the transaction details are correct.

Contact number

Select your preferred (and most appropriate) contact number from the list of your nominated contact options.

Proceed

Click "proceed". You will receive an automated call within a few seconds on the number selected.

VerifID code (example only)

You will receive an automated call on your nominated telephone number within a few seconds.

VerifID verification

Enter the code provided to complete the transaction.

VerifID code

Enter the VerifID code provided over the phone.

Proceed

Click "proceed" to complete the transaction.

Payment receipt

Once you have successfully completed the VerifID process the transaction will be complete and an on-screen receipt will display.
