Heartfelt House - August 2008
Taking the First Steps Plus program
Heartfelt House is a community managed organisation that was established in 2005 by the Alstonville community to support adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse living in the Northern Rivers area.
The Taking the First Steps Plus program aims to provide support and healing to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, both men and women from all races, economic classes and ethnic groups from the Northern Rivers region (LGAS of Lismore, Ballina, Byron and Richmond Valley). This program also caters for the spouse, children and non offending parents of survivors.
Our funds will allow the delivery of 6 18-week group programs (2 per annum). Each program will cater for 6 survivors, 6 partners, 6 non-offending parents and 12-18 children. A maximum total of 36 participants per program, 72 per annum and 216 over 3 years.
