Where we operate

What we're here for - Newcastle Permanent has a long and distinguished history of returning benefits to the communities in which we operate. This is demonstrated in the competitiveness of our products and services, excellence in customer service, an extensive branch network and a significant level of support for a wide range of community-based initiatives that help to improve the quality of life for the people of those communities.

There are five key areas in which we operate:

Mid North Coast Region with branches at Forster, Taree, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour:

From Forster and the Great Lakes in the South to Coffs Harbour in the North, this region is one of Australia’s most loved holiday areas. The region boasts numerous State Forests, National Parks, rainforests, lake systems, rivers and 400 kilometres of pristine beaches.

Central Coast with branches at Tuggerah, Woy Woy, Gosford, Wyoming, Lakehaven, Erina and Bateau Bay:

The Central Coast of NSW is a dynamic region located an hour’s drive north of Sydney. Stretching along a patch of coastline from Patonga in the south to Lake Munmorah in the north, the Central Coast is a place of natural beauty. Its magnificent surf beaches, picturesque lakes and rolling green hills are the perfect place to enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle.

It's a very family friendly environment with great schools and well-established sport and recreation associations. Housing remains significantly more affordable than many of Australia’s capital cities, while the proximity to Sydney means you’re never far from the action.

Mobile Community Lending Managers and a branch in Parramatta help to extend this footprint south to the Sydney market.

Hunter Region, with 37 branches throughout the region:

The Hunter Region of NSW is where it all started for Newcastle Permanent over 100 years ago. Home to the second largest population in NSW outside Sydney, the Hunter extends from Lake Macquarie in the South to Barrington Tops in the North and is bound to the West by the magnificent Hunter Valley, and the East by the exceptional beaches of Newcastle.

Once reliant on the steel industry and agriculture, the Hunter is now emerging as an economically, socially and culturally diversified region. Our wines, sports stars and musicians are internationally renowned.

The Hunter affords great diversity in lifestyle as well; from inner city apartment living on the shores of Newcastle Harbour to the country lifestyle of Maitland and the Valley. The opportunity to live the life you want to is available to all in the region. Good schools, a world class University and community services make it a great place to raise a family.

New England Region with branches at Tamworth and Armidale:

Tamworth better known for its annual country music festival, is Australia’s Country music capital. It offers museums and galleries as well buildings dating back to the 1860s, including a brewery, courthouse and church.

The Armidale area offers the World Heritage Listed New England National park at your doorstep, with great bushwalking and other outdoor activities. Armidale is also known for its heritage, with some impressive cathedrals and great shopping.

Northern Rivers Region with branches at Ballina and Lismore:

The Northern Rivers region stretches from Lismore in the south through to Ballina and Byron Bay, and up to Tweed Heads on the NSW border. The region is known for its untouched beaches and heritage listed rainforests and its great culture, making it a popular destination.
