Why choose the Online Savings Account?
If you have an Everyday Account, or a Home Loan or a Line of Credit with us, you can open an Online Savings Account which offers high interest and no monthly account or transaction fees. In fact you can open multiple Online Savings Accounts to help you save for different goals, such as a holiday, a car, presents etc.
Unlike some other savings accounts, we do not require you to make a minimum deposit, or stop you from making withdrawals to earn interest. This leaves you free to move your savings at anytime to any other Newcastle Permanent account, either by Internet or Phone Banking.
By transferring money from the Online Savings Account to your Everyday Account, you can pay bills online, withdraw money at an ATM or pay for shopping by EFTPOS. These two accounts can work together to help you manage your day-to-day finances as well as helping you save.
Terms and Conditions
1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions. The prize winners acknowledge having read and understood these conditions and agree to be bound by these conditions. All entries are subject to these conditions and must comply with these conditions to be valid.
2. The promoter is Newcastle Permanent Building Society Limited (ACN 087 651 992) of 307 King Street, Newcastle West NSW 2302 ("Promoter or NPBS")
3. The promotion commences at 00.01 AEDT on 01/02/2012 and closes at 23.59 AEDT on 29/02/2012 ("Promotional Period").
4. Entry is open only to residents of New South Wales who are 18 years and over. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and its agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.
5. Subject to clause 4, to be eligible to enter, entrants must open an Online Savings Account during the promotional period either online or in branch, and register the account by asking at their local branch or by calling 13 19 87.
Entrants will receive one entry into the competition draw for each Online Savings Account opened. Members will be entered into the competition at their nominated branch if the account is opened in branch, or the Member Support Centre competition if the account is opened online.
For branches (including the Member Support Centre) who have not had any Online Savings Accounts opened during the Promotional Period, all registered members of the competition who have not already won a prize will automatically go into the draw for that branch/s. In the event an account is jointly held then, the Promoter reserves the right at their absolute discretion to restrict or award the prize to any one or more of the owners of that account but their obligations to the Promoter in relation to the prize, this promotion and these entry conditions are joint and several.
6. The draw will take place at 12 noon AEDT on 05/03/2012 at 307 King St, Newcastle West NSW. The first valid entry drawn for each branch will receive a prize.
7. There are 57 prizes (one for each Newcastle Permanent branch and one for the Member Support Centre) which consists of: 1 Esky Ice King Cooler, 1 Acapulco Umbrella, 1 Cancer Council Sunshade, 2 beach chairs, 4 beach towels, 4 hats, 4 waterbottles. Individual RRP for each prize is $799. Total RRP value of the prize/s is $45,543.
8. All taxes (excluding GST) which may be payable as a consequence of receiving a prize is the sole responsibility of the winner. Independent financial advice should be sought by winners with regard to any taxes relating to a prize.
9. Winners will be notified by telephone within 2 business days of the draw. The names of winners will be published on our website www.newcastlepermanent.com.au within 5 business days of the draw.
10. If necessary and subject to any written directions from an authorised lottery authority, a second chance draw will be held on 05/06/2012 at the same time and place as the first draw in order to distribute any unclaimed prizes. Prize winners will be notified by telephone within 2 business days of the draw. The names of winners will be published on our website www.newcastlepermanent.com.au within 5 business days of the draw.
11. Prizes are not variable or transferable. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. The Promoter's decision is final and binding - no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications. Entries will be deemed void if illegitimate, forged, manipulated or tampered with in any way.
12. In the event that any prize (or part of any prize) becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may substitute a prize (or the relevant part of the prize) with a prize of equal or greater value, subject to any written directions from an authorised lottery authority.
13. The Promoter reserves the right to request verification of age, identity, residential address of winners and any other information relevant to entry into or participation in this promotion. Verification is at the discretion of the Promoter, whose decision is final. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions, or who is involved in any way in interfering or tampering with the conduct of this promotion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
14. The Promoter and its related entities shall not be liable for any impairment, defect, performance issue or other characteristic or aspect of any prize nor any loss, damage or injury suffered to person or property (even if caused by negligence) in connection with the promotion or as a result of accepting and/or using a prize (including proper use or otherwise), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
15. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including (without limitation) due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, vandalism, power failures, tempest, natural disasters, acts of god or nature, civil unrest, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, then, to the extent permitted by law, the Promoter reserves the right in it's sole discretion to cancel, modify or postpone the promotion.
16. Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event that they are a winner in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome) and/or promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
17. Details from entries will be collected and used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this promotion. The prize winner agrees that the Promoter may use their personal information for the above purpose or in any media for future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes. The prize winner may opt out of the future use of their personal information by the Promoter, and/or access, change and/or update their personal information, and/or obtain a copy of the Promoter's privacy policy by contacting the Promoter on 13 19 87.
