Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Beneficiary - July 2005 Central Coast Children’s Fund

Give Me 5 for Kids

The Give Me 5 For Kids campaign has been running for 10 years through Central Coast Radio 2GO FM. The project which has helped to raise thousands of dollars, is part of the Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health’s Central Coast Children’s Fund, which uses the money raised to improve children’s ward facilities on the Central Coast, thus minimising travel to and from Sydney for treatment.

The 2005 campaign was launched on 1 September at an outside broadcast event in Erina Fair, by local 2GO presenters Sarah and Dwayne and attended by the Newcastle Permanent’s Marketing Director, Margaret Ellis. The Newcastle Permanent has supported the Give Me 5 For Kids campaign for many years and for 2005 the Charitable Foundation has approved a $15,000 funding program, which will be donated over the next three years in instalments.

For 2005 however, the Give me 5 for Kids campaign is hoping to raise $150,000 over 30 days through various imaginative initiatives such as a live radio auction and wheel barrow race through the Central Coast. Collection buckets have been placed at Newcastle Permanent branches in the local area as well as at other independent businesses.

All money raised will be donated to the Central Coast’s Children Fund and used to buy essential medical equipment for the children’s ward and the general improvement of all children’s facilities in Central Coast hospitals.
