Construction of Respite Care Facility in Cessnock

Endeavour Industries is a not-for profit organisation which has been providing employment opportunities and support for people suffering a disability in the Cessnock region for the past 40 years.

The organisation runs a commercial laundry, a large wine packaging business and supplies timber products and cable hangers for the underground mining industry. In addition they are a Registered Training Organisation and run day programs for people with disabilities.

Funds are sought to assist in the construction of “Endeavour Villas” in Cessnock (Corner King and Regent Streets). The aim of this facility is to fill the current gap in accommodation for people suffering serious disability in the Cessnock area. Current options for these people are either to stay at home which (which in many cases is not possible due to the level of care needed) or find suitable accommodation outside of the Cessnock area.

Incorporated into the design for this facility is the provision for two units dedicated to providing respite / emergency care. Our funds would be used specifically to construct these units. This facility would support up to 60 families each year.
