Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Beneficiary - November 2006 Lifeline Newcastle
"Talk to someone who cares" promotional campaign
Lifeline Newcastle supports the region’s disadvantaged and distressed by providing a number of counselling and support services. Their 24-hour telephone counselling service takes 15,000 calls annually with fully trained and accredited (yet volunteer) personal counsellors assisting people through a range of family, personal or other situations.
To support their services Lifeline manages six recycled goods stored and a collection depot as well as undertaking various fundraising events and activities throughout the year.
Due to the sensitive and anonymous nature of the services offered by Lifeline the organisation suffers from a very low profile which has affected fundraising and volunteer recruitment efforts. Given the increasing demands for the counselling services offered by Lifeline it now was seeking funds to design and execute a public relations campaign aimed at raising its public profile and ultimately raising more funds through donations and attracting more volunteer counsellors.
The Foundation has approved funding to be used to design and produce promotional collateral (brochures, banners, website redevelopment etc) for a campaign titled "Talk to someone who cares". This campaign aims to attract new volunteer telephone counsellors to Lifeline to allow them to continue to service the local community.
