Equipment purchase

North Coast BreastScreen targets asymptomatic women in the 50-69 years age group but also offers screens to women aged 40-49. Over 20,750 women are screened annually by North Coast BreastScreen across a number of fixed and mobile sites.  The services are offered at fixed sites, located at Tweed Heads, Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie with a mobile van servicing more remote locations. 

Funds were sought to purchase additional equipment to further enhance the computerised radiography system at Lismore and Port Macquarie as well as in the mobile screening van. This equipment will allow North Coast BreastScreen to complete mammography of larger breasted women more quickly, using fewer films.
