Donnison Street Restaurant

Central Coast Shelter is the major provider of emergency accommodation on the Central Coast. Coast Shelter also auspices the Donnison Street Restaurant in Gosford which provides 75,000 free meals per year to the homeless and financially disadvantaged. The Restaurant not only provides free or subsidised meals it also acts as a safe place to shower, socialise and access legal aid, counselling and emergency accommodation services.

Funds were sought to extend the Foundations support of the Donnison Street Restaurant service for a further year (August 2008 - August 2009). The Foundation previously supported this service through 2006 and 2007. During this time the Restaurant has meet all objectives and goals set and provided over 150,000 meals to local homeless and financially disadvantaged residents.
